Head To Thibodaux For The Let Freedom Ring Festival

Fourth of July

The Let Freedom Ring Festival returns to Thibodaux, LA on Wednesday, July 4, 2018. This year’s event will be held at Peltier Park and will begin at 12:00 P.M. Enjoy all the festival activities including live music, food, inflatables, bike parade, live auction, and fireworks.

Fireworks Display

The highlight of any event surrounding the 4th of July is always fireworks and, once again, there will be a great fireworks show to close out the Let Freedom Ring Festival. If timing remains the same as last year, the fireworks show will start at 9:00 P.M.

Nichols State University stadium has been the site of past fireworks displays, and if that holds true this year, they should be easily visible from Peltier Park.

Calling All BBQ Grills

Concessions will be available for purchase during the Let Freedom Ring Festival, but all barbeque grills and pits are welcome. Bring your tents and lawn chairs out to Peltier Park to set up for a full day of activities, but please keep in mind that no glass containers are allowed at the park.

The True Spirit of the Festival

While we all think of fireworks, food, and fun when it comes to the 4th of July, the Let Freedom Ring Festival especially focuses on honoring veterans and service personnel who sacrifice so much to maintain our country’s independence.

Past festivals have opened with the presentation of the colors by our veterans, the raising of the flag, release of white doves, and a 21 gun salute. A military display, free child ID cards, and special patriotic gifts for the kids could also once again be in store at the Let Freedom Ring Festival.

Pro Tips for Your Best Festival Experience

It’s summer and this is Louisiana, so keeping cool is a must if you’re going to be spending the day at the Let Freedom Ring Festival. Here are a few other pro tips for your best experience:

  • Stay Hydrated: Be sure to drink plenty of water in order to stay hydrated in the heat. Keep in mind also that alcohol is a diuretic and tends to lead to dehydration easier when it is hot and you’re outside.
  • Sunscreen: Be sure to apply sunscreen liberally – especially to younger children so they don’t get burned.
  • Make Sure You Have All Your Grill Supplies: You probably won’t forget the grill, but will you remember the charcoal, lighter fluid, cups, plates, and other essential supplies? Check and then double check your inventory before heading to Peltier Park.
