This summer, allow your kids to explore their creative side and hone their artistic skills at Brushworks Art & Music Academy in Houma. Throughout the months of June and July, Brushworks is offering weekly art camps for children ages 5 through 12. These programs provide a fun, interactive way for kids to learn something new, even when they’re not at school. About The Brushworks Summer Art Camps
Art Camps are held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Each week, students create new and exciting projects based on a particular theme using different mediums, such as painting, drawing, printmaking, and sculpting. Projects are specifically designed to fit every skill level, so any child can participate.
The remaining camps for 2019 and their themes are as follows:
- June 10-14 – Pets
- June 17-21 – Louisiana
- June 24-28 – Carnival
- July 8-12 – Science, Space, & Technology
- July 15-19 – Movies, Video Games, & Books
- July 22-26 – Music & Art Week (This will include a 1-hour introduction to musical instruments)
Children may arrive 10 minutes before camp starts each day. However, Brushworks DOES NOT provide before or after care. There will be a 15- to 20-minute snack break each day. Snacks and drinks are included with your camp fee.
Register For Brushworks Summer Art Camps
Parents must register their children using the Parent Portal. Camps are $125 a week. There is a one-time, non-refundable $25 registration fee per child for the first camp. If you register for multiple camps, you will not be charged an additional registration fee.
Camp fees must be paid in full at the time of registration to hold your spot. If you need to cancel, you must do so 2 weeks prior to the 1st day of camp. You will have the option of receiving a refund, a transfer, or a credit minus a 10% cancellation fee. You will not receive a refund, transfer, or credit for a late cancellation or no-show.
You may also purchase a camp t-shirt at the time of registration. Children can wear their shirts to camp, but it is not required. Shirts are $15 a piece and will be charged separately from your camp fees. Sizes range from youth small to adult medium and come in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, or light grey.
