Fair Attractions and Events
First of all, there will be a ton of fun rides at the Thibodaux Fireman’s Fair. You’ll be able to ride the Ferris wheel, the tilt-a-whirl, the bumper cars, and other thrill rides. There will also be rides just for kids. You can pay for rides individually, or you can buy a pay-one-price ride bracelet. These bracelets are $22 and are good only for the day you buy them. The pay-one-price hours are 5 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, May 2; 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 3; and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. But you can enjoy the rides any time the fair is open!
The Firemen’s Fair weekend will also have lots of fun events you can check out. Be sure to buy raffle tickets whenever you’re at the fair. One raffle will be held at the end of the Firemen’s Fair on Sunday, May 5, and first prize is $10,000 cash!
There will be silent and live auctions during the Firemen’s Fair. The live auction will be Saturday night at 6 p.m. under the big tent. And the silent auction will be inside the parade float barn starting right after the parade on Sunday. Prizes are different every year but range from car washes to custom-made boats, so be sure to come see what’s available this year.
Get some exercise the weekend of the event with the 5K race and fun run. Both races will be Saturday, May 4. The fun run will start at 7:30 a.m., and the 5K will start at 8. Enjoy exploring historic downtown Thibodaux and celebrate with finisher’s medals and refreshments.
On Sunday morning at 11 a.m., you won’t want to miss the firemen’s parade. See the volunteer fire department, their equipment, and decorative floats. This family-friendly parade is a great chance to remember what the event is raising money for.
Plus, there will be live music all weekend long!
