Made with a combination of cocoa powder and chocolate chips, this recipe is not only easy to make, but it’s delicious. You’ll need cocoa, chocolate chips, milk, and a dash of vanilla extract. Start pouring the milk of your choice into a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Using milk as opposed to water is a great way to ensure that your hot cocoa is going to be as creamy as possible. Two percent milk is standard, but don’t be afraid to try other options like almond milk or coconut milk.
Then, whisk in your cocoa powder, and be sure to add sugar here as the cocoa powder is naturally unsweetened. Heat this mixture up until it is very warm. Once the milk, cocoa powder, and sugar concoction is warmed, add in your chocolate chips, and whisk them in until they are completely melted into the milk. Next, add a little extra flavor to your cocoa with just a splash of vanilla. Lastly, serve immediately. For an extra touch you can add in some fun little toppings such as marshmallows, whipped cream, crushed candy canes, or every leftover chocolate chips.
