Change is coming to East Houma, thanks in large part to Hope Extreme. This organization has a very important mission to change the lives of the youth in Houma. The nonprofit strives to meet the educational, emotional, and physical needs of at-risk children, and it needs your help. Attend the second annual Hope Fest at Hope Extreme on Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The money raised will help Hope Extreme fund its Art School and summer programs. While you can attend the event for free, you do have to pay $20 to run in the 5k. Hope Extreme will also raise money through registration fees for vendors.

The Hope Fest 5k
Let your feet work for a good cause by participating in the 5k. This isn’t a super competitive race. People of all skill and health levels are encouraged to run or walk the course. This is a fun way to jumpstart an exercise routine. Bring the entire family out for a little exercise and then use the momentum to start living a healthy lifestyle.
Shop at Vendors
There are going to be tons of vendors at Hope Fest, and you never know what you might find. Expect some craft booths that sell handmade wares, including soap and jewelry. You likely know that Louisiana is home to some of the best craftspeople in the world, so you can expect to find some great items at Hope Fest. Oh, and you can also get some food here, so that’ll fuel you up so you can keep shopping.
Fun for the Kiddos
Your kids might not like to shop, but they sure will love all the kids’ activities at Hope Fest. With inflatables, games, and bounce houses, they’ll get to burn all kinds of energy at this festival. That means you can have a relaxing evening after the festival is over.
