Do you love community events? How about raising money for a good cause? It’s hard to say no to those! And if you want to do something good in the area to start off the new year, you definitely won’t want to miss the Souper BOWL Cookoff and 5K benefitting United Way for South Louisiana.
About the Event
This event is on January 26, 2019 at the Courtyard by Marriott in Houma, Louisiana. You definitely don’t want to miss the Souper BOWL Cookoff and 5K this year.
If you want to run in the race, you should be sure to get there early. The 5K begins at 9:30 that morning. Don’t forget your running shoes!
After the race, the event still has plenty of fun things for you and your family to enjoy. There’s a whole cookoff later in the day.
Teams of cooks have been getting ready just for this event. They’ll have so many different soups for you to try. It’ll definitely hit the spot after you walk or run the 5K.
The cookoff gates open at 11 a.m. Last year, there were more than 20 soups, gumbos, and chilis to sample. Attendees can even vote for their favorite dish.
Tickets to the cookoff are $5. And with the money going to a great cause, that’s an amazing deal.
United Way for South Louisiana
So what exactly does United Way for South Louisiana do? They’re a non-profit with a huge influence in the community. They support more than 30 local agencies that provide services for those in need. United Way for South Louisiana covers Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Assumption Parishes.
When you participate in this fundraiser, you know your money is going to something good. In fact, it’s going right back into our community.
